Red-spotted Bluethroat - Luscinia svecica svecica

On 29 May 1993 Paul Gnode and I were birding on the island of Texel. We just had seen the Sardinian Warbler Sylvia melanocephalus at the northern part of the island and decided to check a small bush just south of the Cocksdorp, near a monument of a Lancaster-Bomber propellor. We flushed one bird which turned out to be a beautiful adult male Red-spotted Bluethroat Luscinia svecica svecica! We warned other birders and everybody on the island could see the bird very well. Next day it was gone, just typical for this taxon.
